Chaperone® Bike Alarm Description
This bike alarm is able to determine its environment and then, when movement or possible theft is detected, it sounds a loud warning.
If the theft or movement continues, the bike alarm will continually sound.
We also provide a Ring Attachment so that this bicycle alarm may be used in conjunction with a security cable or U-Lock etc.
The Chaperone® Bike Alarm uses a PP3-9v alkaline battery. The battery compartment is automatically locked once the alarm has been armed
and has a specially designed fixing bracket that fits to the frame of the bicycle using a specially developed 'allen key' provided.
The unit is armed by turning the key 45 degrees clockwise when the red LED will blink for 10 seconds. This time delay allows you to remove the key and replace the keyhole cover without triggering the alarm. After the 10 second delay, the red LED will stop blinking and the unit is then armed.
Whenever the unit detects any motion or shock, it will generate a beep warning sound. If multiple movements are detected, the alarm will sound continuously for about 30 seconds and then re-assess the situation. If movement persists, it will again sound for about 30 seconds and this sequence will continue until turned off with the key.
