Driveway Alarm - New version! Description
This brand new version of the old favourite driveway alarm is a wire free device that alerts you when anyone enters your garden, driveway, outhouse or garage. The weather proof sensor will send a signal to the receiver located in the house.
When activated, the receiver either chimes or sounds a loud alarm alerting you to a visitor or intruder.
Note that additional Movement Detectors are also available (see accessories below) which means that you can now have several PIR Movement Detectors located at different points around the house or garden and they will all report to the Receiver Unit.
Range up to 330 feet.
HOW IT WORKS:
The infrared sensor or eye located in the front of the motion detector will detect motion and will transmit a radio signal to the in-house receiver; the receiver alerts you with an audible tone and you have a choice of either a Chime effect (gives 2 double chimes) or a full alarm which will operate for at least 25 seconds before stopping and re-arming itself.
PLEASE NOTE:
Your motion detector is weather proof, however, it is best to protect the unit from direct rain or harsh wind.
All batteries used must be of the same type. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (cadmium) batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.
Batteries required (included) :
PIR Sensor Unit - 1 x 9v battery
Receiver Unit - 3 x AA Batteries or with connection facility to power via a 4.5v DC adapter (not included).
INSTALLATION:
TOOLS REQUIRED: Small Phillips head screwdriver.
MOTION DETECTOR :
1. Slide off battery cover and install 1 x 9 volt battery. Reinstall cover, press the ‘ON’ button on the reverse of the unit.
2. Mount detector onto a solid surface, approximately 4.5 feet from the ground. It is best to mount detector so that it has no view of street traffic. This unit operates best when mounted so that the sun does not shine directly onto the lens surface.
RECEIVER:
1. Slide off battery cover and install 3 x AA batteries as shown inside compartment. Turn power switch (located on left side of unit) to either 'Chime' or 'Alarm'.
2. Place or hang the receiver within 300 feet of the motion detector, any walls or obstructions may cut down the range of the radio signal, so place or hang the receiver and motion detector as close in range to each other as possible.
