INSTALLATION :
Foundation Bolts :
You will need five suitable foundation bolts, these are available from builder’s merchants or DIY sheds. Your post is supplied without them, as there are many types available for different requirements, i.e. Some people prefer bolts, others prefer allen key heads (Allen key heads can be drilled out for additional security.)
Drill Bits :
The drill bit should be sized according to the foundation bolts purchased.
INSTALLATION
1. Please read “Important Notes” below
2. Place post in desired position ensuring that the post is free from obstructions. If the padlock is fitted, unlock and remove.
3. Using the post-base plate as a template mark the position of the four outer holes.
4. Remove base plate and drill holes using a suitable drill bit.
5. Re-position the base plate and check holes are in alignment. Put post in its lowered position or remove the top section (KCP) then mark and drill the 5th hole of the base plate. For added security the 5th bolt is inaccessible when the post is in the locked position.
6. Position the post again and tighten the foundation bolts.
“Important Notes” Please read carefully :
When deciding the location of the post, ensure that you avoid installation near drainage covers etc to try to prevent drilling near pipes or cables. If in doubt consult a qualified builder for installation of this product.
WARNING : The Security Post is made of heavy weight steel, to prevent injury to yourself, please hold the handle at the top of the post when removing the padlock and ensure that the post is lowered slowly into the ground.
The Security Post carries a 12 month guarantee.
