Great, i now know whenever someone is approaching my reception area. Range is a bit limited within my building but thats probably due to metal framework in the partition walls. AB Sussex.

Home/Residential Driveway Alarm Features

Home/Residential Driveway Alarm Description

We are really excited about this brand new version of the old favourite driveway alarm. It is a wire free device that alerts you when anyone enters your garden, driveway, outhouse or garage. The weather proof sensors will send a signal to the receiver located in the house and is far superior in reliability to all previous low-cost driveway alarms.

When activated, the receiver gives a chime of varying length (depending upon which channel you connect to) alerting you to a visitor or intruder. Note that additional Movement Detectors are also available (see accessories below) which means that you can now have several PIR Movement Detectors located at different points around the house or garden and they will all report to the Receiver Unit. Each receiver has up to 4 channels so you will also be able to tell exactly which item has triggered the alarm!

Range up to 240 feet (line of sight).

HOW IT WORKS:

The infra-red sensor (or eye) located in the front of the motion detector will detect movement and transmit a radio signal wirelesslt to the in-house Receiver; this Receiver alerts you with an visual and audible tone that someone or something is moving about and you have a choice of 4 channels which will indicate precisely which detector has triggered if using more than one. Each sensor has a PIR range of approximately 10-12m and on a 110 degree horizontal arc.

PLEASE NOTE:

Your motion detectors are weather-proof however, it is best to protect the unit from direct rain or harsh wind and sun.

 Fitting Note:

Motion Sensor should be fitted using the ball joint bracket provided and placed at a height of 4 -5 ft. Then adjust the angle to suit. Set the angle to about 12 degrees from the vertical for maximum detection area and a smaller angle for more precise detection and to avoid unwanted activations.

Batteries required (not included) :

PIR Sensor Unit - 1 x 9v battery
Receiver Unit - Plugs straight into the mains using the adapter which is included however, 4 AAA batteries are required in case of mains failure.

INSTALLATION:

TOOLS REQUIRED: Small Phillips head screwdriver.

MOTION DETECTOR:

Undo the retaining screw & slide off battery cover and install 1 x 9 volt battery. Reinstall cover and screw. The unit requires 45 seconds to re-set itself when the battery is first connected.

Mount detector onto a solid surface, approximately 5-6 feet from the ground. Remember the range of the PIR Sensor is up to 10 meters so it is best to mount the detector so that it has no view of street traffic. This unit should not be mounted so that the sun shines directly onto the lens surface.

1. Plug the Receiver unit into the mains using the provided adaptor. Turn main switch (located on side of unit) to 'OFF' - 'CHIME'  or alert.

2. Place the Receiver within range of the motion detector or detectors, remember any walls or obstructions will cut down the range of the radio signal, so for best results place the Receiver and Motion Detector as close in range to each other as possible.

RECEIVER:

In 'OFF' mode the unit will only flash the corresponding red LED without sound.

In 'CHIME' mode the unit will emit a single chime sound (bing-bong) and the corresponding red channel LED will flash for approximately 13 seconds.

In 'ALERT' mode the unit will emit an alert signal in accordance with the channel activated (one beep for Ch1 and two beeps for Ch2 and 3 beeps for Ch3 etc.) and these beeps, together with the corresponding red flashing LED will continue for about 13 seconds.

As if that is not clever enough, it is now possible to programme your Receiver into FULL ALARM MODE which will (after 30 seconds entry delay) trigger a loud 120dB ear-piercing alarm if any of the first 3 channels are activated.

To stop the alarm you simply key in your own 4 digit code into the Receiver.

Note: Channel 4 will only ever give an 'ALERT' signal no matter if the Receiver is set to ALARM, so bear that in mind when setting the unit up.

Total peace of mind at a fantastic price!
