Chaperone® WorkSafe Lone Worker System Description
This is a truly easy to install and effective wireless lone worker system designed to activate an autodialler to summon help, all upon the press of a Panic Button within an approximate range of 500m from the main receiver. The kit consists of a Receiver Unit which contains an Auto Dialler, a Wireless Panic Button, Telephone Connectors and a Remote Control unit.
Staff may not always be alone, it may only be during certain periods, for example at lunch breaks, during meetings or even unexpected absence of other members of staff which could happen from time to time. Sometimes a member of staff will have to work in a remote area perhaps within a factory or on another floor to where others are working. Whatever the reason or frequency, staff will feel more secure in the certain knowledge that whether frightened, threatened or ill, a single press of the Panic Button will automatically call a pre-designated person or persons by telephone within a matter of seconds.
Employment Law changed back in 2007 making employers, managers and directors responsible for a 'Duty of Care' to their staff with severe penalties for a breach of this requirement. Staff members working alone in a building fall under this 'Duty of Care' requirement and provision of a Chaperone® Worksafe Loneworker System helps to fulfill an employer's legal responsibilities. Not only that, but it enhances the staff's general feeling of safety if they are expected to work alone.
INSTALLATION:
The system is easily installed simply by identifying a suitable location for the Receiver Unit which needs to be near to a mains power socket and telephone line. If using the optional Siren, this should be fixed into place on a nearby surface within 10m of the Receiver and plugged in.
A 10 second emergency message should be recorded (automatically played upon activation) and up to 6 telephone numbers programmed for the autodialler to call.
In larger or more complex areas, an additional Repeater Unit may be purchased (see Accessories below) which will extend the range by an extra 500m which means that the Panic Alarm will work from about 1000m away.
OPERATION:
You switch the unit ON using the Remote Control and thereafter a simple press on the Panic Button (which will work up to 500m away) will instantly activate the Loneworker System triggering the autodial facility instantly. The remote not only turns the unit on and off but may also be used to activate the system.
If the optional 105dB Siren is purchased and connected (see Accessories below) then this will instantly sound a penetrating alarm to notify others in nearby offices or areas thus also giving additional confirmation to the staff member activating the unit, that his or her panic message has been received.
Once the emergency message has been received, the person receiving the call can 'accept' the message and stop others being called by pressing a designated button on their telephone. It is also possible for this person to 'monitor' what is happening for a 20 second spell, however this will only be useful if the person generating the panic call is actuaslly near to the Receiver Unit.
