As this is December for most of us our attention will be turning to factory/office/student Christmas party, spending hours looking for that perfect little black number to wear or the designer suit in an attempt to try and impress your work colleagues.

By the time the Christmas party has arrived there is a happy festive mood. Drink is flowing freely. It’s all in good spirit, but with the dangers of binge drinking how soon does it take for that innocent festive night-out to turn into a nightmare.

All too often we hear of incidents of rape and sexual assault across the country over Christmas. It’s not just females who are in danger but males as well. According to recent statistics, 9 out of 10 people who have suffered rape were drunk or had taken drugs (source) and an incredible 84% of those attacked knew their attacker!

At this time of year when the Christmas spirits are on a high, is it worth taking any risks with your safety? By carrying a personal rape alarm around with you, you can alert any friends or even a passersby that you need assistance allowing you those few extra seconds which might just help to make your escape.
