Britain’s got Talent winners Diversity have been asked by Leicestershire Police Force to help spread the word about personal safety for students whilst attending their University. The group will be making a short film telling students about the dangers of nights out, walking alone and that all their private possessions hshould be locked away and marked with property marking UV pens.
PC Harvey Watson local policeman who enlisted the help of Diversity says :
“Groups like Diversity are what the youth of today are following so I thought that they would be a good way to get important crime prevention messages out there.”
With university places filling up fast, students may find themselves unable to attend the university of their choice, therefore find themselves travelling to further afield universities in order to study their particular course. Attending a new university is always an exciting time, meeting new people, new pubs to find and then there is the famous student parties.
All great fun but let’s not forget that there are people out there that just want to exploit and take advantage of new students – the threat is so real, which is why the Police force feel it necessary to use celebrities to connect with youngsters about keeping themselves safe and out of harms way.
This term be prepared, think about your personal security and your personal possessions such as laptops, computers, mobile phones and your books.
