Over the next few weeks, Britain will be progressing into party season mode with office and workplace parties. Yes, it’s that time of the year when management share a few drinks with employees and everyone, supposedly, is having a great time as the festive spirit starts to take hold.
Normally, a few red faces emerge after the Christmas night out, as stories and mobile snaps of unsuitable behaviour is passed around the office or workplace. In many cases this will be as far as it goes and it will all be taken in good humour.
However, there is a darker side to the Christmas Party, for each year there are thousands of woman and men, that are raped or assaulted due to a drunken festive night has been taken too far.
Here at Crime Prevention Products we know that everyone loves a good night out, we also understand that all too often men and women can misinterpret the signals given out by others due to an excessive night of drinking. If you don’t want someone’s advances to go any further than one of the best ways is to alert passers by that you are in situation that you would rather not be in. Crime Prevention Products offer a wide range rape alarms that will fit discreetly into your bag or pocket no matter the size.

Over the year, how many times do people say “I really have to lose weight!” It’s no wonder really, as we’re flooded with adverts on television and pictures in magazines showing models with their ‘perfect’ (more likely photoshopped) figures we feel obliged to fight the flab ourselves and lose weight.
How many of us have just returned home from their annual holidays only to find that their everyday clothes are now a little more tighter than you remembered. All that holiday drinking and eating excess has eventually taken its toll. It’s just about this point that you make a conscious decision to actively lose weight, and, as we all know, joining a gym can be a costly experience.

What is it about the British on holiday, after all we’re not a nation of silly people, in fact on the continent we are regarded as prim and proper and having that ‘stiff upper lip’. So, why is it when we head off on our annual leave some of us do our best to embarrass ourselves by getting very, very drunk, fighting and scrape the barrel when it comes to lewd and loud behaviour.
In a months time most of England’s men folk will be found sitting by their televisions cheering on their country. The football world cup has the ability to bring everyone together, family, friends and neighbours will be shouting, crying even hugging together as they cheer on the fortunes of the Three Lions.
As a parent I am constantly looking out for my kids, teaching them what’s right from wrong, and hopefully given them a chance to grow into respectable individuals. As they grow, I hope they’ll have an understanding of what ‘streetwise’ and ‘streetsmart’ is all about (and that just doesn’t mean they know what to do when it comes to crossing the road or finding their way to the shops).
