With more people living longer than ever before, you’d expect in our twilight years that with old age comes respect from others and life is perhaps a little easier on us… Unfortunately, this is not always the case and earlier this week an OAP from Greater Manchester found this out the hard way. According to reports, the elderly man was set about by a youth after he stepped off a bus. The 71 year old pensioner was subjected to a violent attack and was head-butted and kicked and later described the completely unprovoked attack as “relentless“.
Thankfully, the youth in question, was brought to justice!
Reports, like the one above, strike fear into us all, especially our elderly residents, so much so, many are now becoming too afraid to leave their own homes. Even to leave their home to pop out to the local shops can be intimidating to many.
Attacks on the elderly happen in many forms, it’s a distressing fact of modern life, which is why we urge the use of personal attack alarms that not only emit a loud siren but can cover an attacker in a foam, such as the Mini Foaming Defence Spray, that will stain their face, body or clothes for several days… Making it easier for the police to identify the attacker and make an arrest.
Let’s show some responsibility for our elderly residents, and as a community help bring back some respect to those in their twilight years.
It isn’t a bold statement to make that ‘personal alarms are life savers‘ it’s a mere fact! These wonderful devices have helped to save lives with their ability to alert other people or even disorientate an attacker, allowing for those vital seconds required to make an escape.
As we approach the last days of Christmas shopping, and you’re wondering what you can buy for a stocking filler present but are looking to avoid the traditional socks, smelly stuff or slippers! Then why not decide to give a pratical gift instead such as a personal protection alarm?

As we approach the festive period the constant bombardment of xmas ads begins, fuelling our kids’ expectations and excitement, as the only words we seem to hear from them now are “want that!” As parents we’ll do the best we can to make sure that they receive as many gifts as possible on their ‘ever-growing’ christmas list. Of course, there might be some forward-thinking parents out there who began to purchase xmas presents as far back as spring and summer to ensure that xmas isn’t an expensive hit all at once on their pockets. But the big presents don’t get bought until nearer the time and there’s a good reason for this…

The mere mention of ‘The Christmas Office Party‘ and people begin to get a little excited or nervous (depending on your point of view). Christmas is traditionally a time where employees love to head out and enjoy themselves, drink lots of booze, eat plenty of rich food and ultimately have the chance to ‘tell the boss‘ what you really think of him/her. All pretty cliched and harmless I’m sure you’ll agree.

We all know the

In just a few months, some of our brightest youngsters will be leaving home for the first time and heading off to study at university or college. Of course this is a very exciting time for most young adults. The prospect of forging new friendships, gaining independence and expanding their knowledge base with the occasional study period. Many university campuses also have the traditional students bar which will host various events and music concerts which can be a brilliant place for students to congregate, drink and socialise.
A recent report released by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that that nearly one million women are abused every year in the UK. It then went on to reveal that two women are killed every week by either partners or ex-partners and more than half of all victims of serious sexual assaults have been attacked by partners or ex-partners (
