As we near the end of the month, a lot of employees will be receiving their last wage packet before Christmas is upon them. This is the best opportunity to purchase those much-wanted xmas pressies. However, as we at Crime Prevention Products are constantly warning people, there are those amongst us who will gladly help themselves to your hard earned cash by snatching your purse or wallet!
Christmas shopping is a stressful enough time without having to endure the upsetting experience of finding yourself robbed or pickpocketed. To ensure that no one simply walks away with your money, we’d like to take this opportunity to publish a few tips to help protect your cash…
- When taking money out of any bank ‘ATM’, make sure that no one can invade your space and ‘sneak a peek’ at your PIN number.
- Once your cash is dispensed, place it somewhere safe before you walk away from the bank.
- Never place you cash or wallet in your back pocket – pickpockets love this and will see you as an easy target.
- Never take your cash out and count it in public, this will advertise to everyone that you have money.
- When out shopping in busy stores and market places always ensure that your bag is kept securely closed.
One good tip is, if you happen to be carrying a lot of money, then try and separate your money into different pockets, purses and wallets! That way, if any pickpocket happens to get their hands on your money, they’ll not have stolen your full amount and you’ll still have some to continue shopping.
It’s easy to shop online. In fact it’s so easy that there are an estimated 32 million of us, here in the UK, who will opt to purchase goods online this year. The high majority of sites selling online are genuine, however, there is an ever-growing trend of websites set-up by cyber criminals to con online consumers into buying fake goods or just to harvest your credit/debit details.
As we approach the festive period the constant bombardment of xmas ads begins, fuelling our kids’ expectations and excitement, as the only words we seem to hear from them now are “want that!” As parents we’ll do the best we can to make sure that they receive as many gifts as possible on their ‘ever-growing’ christmas list. Of course, there might be some forward-thinking parents out there who began to purchase xmas presents as far back as spring and summer to ensure that xmas isn’t an expensive hit all at once on their pockets. But the big presents don’t get bought until nearer the time and there’s a good reason for this…

Over the last few months, the good people of Britain have been constantly hit with bad news regarding the nation’s economy. Firstly, we suffered the fear of job insecurity and wage freezes then growth began to slow and now we’ve watched unemployment reach its highest since 1996 with youth unemployment has now tipped the one million mark. With the holidays just around the corner, there will be many residents who’ll be wondering what they’re going to do to ensure their family has a decent Christmas.

It has to be said, that although we’re already in November, the temperatures are still hovering above the average for this time of year. However, as we all know, the temperatures will soon drop and we’ll be forced to turn up the heating thermostat.

As we approach the winter holidays many people will be taking to the roads in order to spend time with their family, friends and loved ones over the festive period. Whilst every care has been taken to make sure that our roads (motorways, major and minor) are fit to travel, winter driving can be challenging for even the most experienced of motorists.
The mere mention of ‘The Christmas Office Party‘ and people begin to get a little excited or nervous (depending on your point of view). Christmas is traditionally a time where employees love to head out and enjoy themselves, drink lots of booze, eat plenty of rich food and ultimately have the chance to ‘tell the boss‘ what you really think of him/her. All pretty cliched and harmless I’m sure you’ll agree.
