Fireproof Your Premises With Anti Arson Letterboxes

Filed under: Fire Safety — admin @ 2:25 pm

Remember, remember the 5th of November, The Gunpowder, Treason and Plot. As many of you will know, this is the start of a nursery rhyme that was written to commemorate the failed gun powder plot of 1605 when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. So, as we approach this date we ready ourselves for a night of bonfires, the night sky lit up with fireworks and the inevitable loud bangs that drive most dogs crazy. For most, Bonfire Night will pass with no trouble at all as councils and community groups organise special events to help celebrate this custom with safety as the main priority.

The dark side of Bonfire Night is that ceratin individuals/groups use this time of the year to terrorise neighbourhoods. In England they call it ‘Mischievous Night‘ where youths have been known to set fireworks off down local streets, place ‘bangers’ through people’s letterboxes even attacking other teenagers, pets and local business all in the name of ‘fun’.

Ask any home or local business owner, who has been the victim of a firework prank, just how much damage a ‘banger’ or ‘rocket’ can cause to premises.

Crime Prevention Products are committed to protecting local residents and businesses that’s why we can supply some of the markets best Anti Arson Letterboxes, which will ensure that if anything flammable is placed though your door, that’s as far as it gets. Our Anti Arson Letterboxes have been tested at the Warrington Fire Research Establishment to determine performance.

You can now buy from the CPP shop and pay in Euros or $US Dollars. Please feel free to read more about our International Shipping Information.

The question is “how much money do you really have to spend on securing your property”?

Affordable Assitance Alarms

Filed under: Personal Alarms — admin @ 1:50 pm

We all know the benefits of having a personal alarm and how they can discreetly fit into everyone’s life. If you’ve ever had to use a 135+dB personal alarm you’ll know just how and why it can give you those vital seconds to make your escape, enough time to alert someone that you’re in need of assistance. However, personal alarms do have another use… As well as warding off potential attackers they can also be used as an affordable assitance alarm.

Last year the people of Britain were subjected to one of the worst winters in living memory, record low temperatures and snow falls ensured that only the brave could venture outside their own homes.

Inevitably, with the winter comes the snow and ice. Which can be treacherous and even fatal to our elderly residents. Slipperly conditions are hard to manouvere across, even for able-bodied persons, imagine what it must be like then for those amongst us who may be a little unsteady on their feet.

Even daily chores such as placing the rubbish in an outside bin, walking the dog or even going to the shops can place elderly residents in immense danger with bad winter conditions underfoot. It makes sense to have a personal alarm attached to keys or on their body which can act as an assitance alarm when triggered if they happen to slide on icy ground.

Remember, personal alarms can have more uses than just being used as an effective attack alarm. There not just for young women/men but can be effective for the elderly, disabled and even the more actively fit amongst us who like to roam the countryside and climb hills/mountains in their spare time.

Self Defence Against A Home Intruder

Filed under: Home Security,Personal Safety — admin @ 12:57 pm

self defence against a home intruderYou can picture the scene… You’re laid in bed asleep only to be suddenly awakened by a startling noise. Your heart races as you realise that someone is in your home. Thoughts start racing through your head, then you think about your families safety… It’s then you decide you cannot just lay there, you must protect yourself and your family, you must confront them!

In recent years there have been well documented cases where intruders have been seriously injured or killed as they attempted to burgle someone’s home. Tony Martin was jailed in 1999 for murdering one intruder and seriously injuring another after the two men tried to burgle his farmhouse. The ‘Tony Martin’ case deeply divided not only the legal establishment but the general public as well.

Then, just last week, police were called to a house where they arrested a homeowner who stabbed an alleged intruder to death during a scuffle. The arrested man claims he used reasonable force in self defence to protect himself and family from intruders. The law states that it ‘permits one person to kill another in self defence only, if the person defending him or herself uses no more than reasonable force‘.

You can read more about the Crown Prosecution Service views on using Self Defence against a home intruder on their website : here!

Here at Crime Prevention Products we stock a large array of affordable home security devices such wireless burglar alarms which are often enough to deter any opportunistic thieves from entering your home.

Protecting Your Caravan During the Winter Months

Filed under: Travel Security,Vehicle Security — admin @ 11:20 am

As we say goodbye to the last remnants of the summer sun, many caravanning enthusiasts will be busy preparing their mobile ‘home from homes’ to make them secure for winter storage. For some, they’ll use an open air storage site (a big field or concrete compound) or an undercover storage area (normally, a big warehouse) to use as a winter secure storage base. However, for many caravanners, the cheapest form of winter caravan storage is the home driveway.

Many caravan owners still believe that their garden is the safest place for their ‘van’ as they can watch over it day and night, and with the use of proper home security devices such as wheel clamps and hitch locks this can make it even more difficult for potential thieves to simply hitch-up and drive off with their caravan.

Yet, there are disadvantages for those people who decide to store their caravans at home. For, according to Lifesure Caravan Insurance, statistics show that the vast majority of thefts taking place are actually home burglaries.

Here at Crime Prevention Products, we can supply caravan owners with various security devises such as hitch locks, wheel clamps and security parking posts. So, if they do decide to store their caravan at home, they have the products available to make their home caravan storage as secure as possible!

CCTV Cameras Bring Justice To Rioters

Filed under: CCTV — admin @ 12:26 pm

london riotsLast month, the people of England were subjected to some of the worst cases of rioting and looting in living memory. Gangs of people could be seen blatantly antagonising the authorities before turning on local shops and businesses and helping themselves to the goods inside. Buses, cars, shops and even people’s homes were set alight as the riots quickly spread across the country.

Many local shopkeepers would return the following morning to find the shutters ripped from their hinges, which had protected their premises, and their stock strewn over the road or simply ‘gone’. With the police being criticised for adopting a ‘stand back’ approach, businesses were left unprotected for these gangs of looters to ‘take’ what they wanted.

As organised ‘gangs of looters’ targeted and trashed shop after shop they must have thought they were unstoppable as the looting and violence spread – gone went the hoodies, the neckerchiefs and the fear of being caught.

However, some shopkeepers had installed CCTV systems which were left continuously running capturing all the ‘action’ as it happened. In many cases the images obtained from these cameras have been used to identify the criminals resulting in them being prosecuted by the courts. Police have stated they still have an astonishing 20,000 hours of CCTV footage to sift through and bring even more looters to justice.

Crime Prevention Products have a large number of Wireless Digital Security Cameras which will fit discreetly into any business.
