When it comes to protecting your property it’s advisable to have some sort of security installed on your premises. However, there is an area that many residents forget to protect – their garden or yard. Summertime is just as prone to backdoor theft as the dark nights. Probably more so, as expensive items are left outside such as barbecues, bikes and garden furniture that would normally be locked away in a shed or garage.
Most theft committed is opportunistic rather than the targetted type. In an instant someone will notice a bike or some other item in your garden or yard and take the decision, there and then, to snatch it for themselves. Protecting your garden or yard with security lighting has to be one of the most effective ways of deterring opportunist thieves. Few criminals are willing to commit a crime when the area is illuminated or will have immediate second thoughts about their actions when their unwanted presence triggers the sensor and their suddenly awash in illuminating light.
However, if may be that you’re in bed or out for the night and don’t notice the security lighting going on. This is when the IllumiCam Security Floodlight with Hidden Camera and Audible Warning comes into its own. Not only does the IllumiCam, illuminate your garden or yard, but once it is triggered it can then record a high quality 20 second video from its 2 mega pixel camera or even take a series of still photographs. Both the captured video and images will be time and date stamped.
There is also the option to set the IllumiCam to give out a loud audible warning as well. For example “You Are Trespassing” or “Warning! You Are Being Videotaped By A Security Camera”. You can even set the warning to the sound of a dog barking or just set it up to run in silent mode without any audio.
This summer, don’t let anyone spoil your fun in the sun, protect your home and garden.
Everyday in the media we hear about some crime related news, yet the politicians are still intent on informing us that crime is on the decrease. Unfortunately, crime and opportunistic theft will always happen, as long as somebody leaves a door or a window open, there will always be someone willing to ‘chance their luck‘ in the hope they can getaway with something that doesn’t belong to them.
We all have certain dreams and ambitions for our children that we wish them to aspire too as they grow older. For some it’s College and/or University, while for others we hope they find a good job with decent money and prospects. For most young people a rite of passage into adulthood is learning to drive and then having a vehicle to get about in. However, one of the major problems, that many young people face after having passed their driving test, is that insurance premiums are so high for newer models, they have no option but to purchase an older, cheaper vehicle that fits in with their budget.

When it comes to tackling crime and opportunistic theft there are several security devices that can be used to help with your personal protection as well as protecting your home or business. In an ideal world we wouldn’t need to protect and alarm our personal possessions. Long gone are the ‘good old days’ when you could ‘up and leave your front and back doors open while you were out’. Do that today and you’re asking for trouble.
A lot of us will be trying to lose a few extra pounds in the up-and-coming weeks just in time for their annual holiday getaway. Whatever your reason for trying to lose weight, one of the best ways is to ‘get on your bike’.
One of the signs that summer is fast approaching has to be the sight of the white caravan being towed through our national road network. As the weather heats up, many caravan owners can be seen heading off for their traditional weekend breaks or even longer holidays, as this can often work out cheaper in comparison to paying for hotels and flights especially due to the credit crunch. Motorways, by-passes and then country roads often see convoys of these mobile ‘home from homes’ being towed. These slow moving vehicles are often blamed for traffic build up on our roads and are, therefore, often the target for road-rage.
As the financial burden of everyday life starts to hit our pockets, most of us will have no option but attempt to cut back on some family luxuries. The annual holiday to the sun might be postponed, the new family car will have to wait and the extension to the back of the house can be pencilled in for a later date.

Over the last few months, we’ve seen protests, demonstrations and marches up and down the country, most of these have been aimed at the Coalition Government and the unavoidable cost cutting policies. Although, it is unfortunate that cuts need to be taken within sensitive departments such as policing, hospitals and local councils, many fear that the cuts have been too excessive.
A few years ago Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems could only be found in a few selected places such as Banks, Building Societies and some high street department stores. Nowadays,
