Running On Alarm Power

Filed under: Garden Security — admin @ 12:38 pm

How many people up-and-down the country have recently purchased garages, sheds or even an extra outhouse? Then filled them with expensive items such as power tools, golf clubs, lawnmowers, heck even the family car, if there’s room. Now, how many of us have electricity wired up to their new garage, shed or outbuilding? Not many, I bet. Of course there are instances when hooking up your shed to the national grid is just not required – mostly, though, it’s the expense which puts us off the idea.

If you fall within the group of people (probably, the majority) that don’t have electricity running to your garage, shed or outbuilding, yet still need to fill it with expensive items and are worried about security then here at Crime Prevention Products we have just the product for you. The Yale Wireless Burglar Alarm Including External Siren is the perfect answer for the more remote location where power is not available, for example vulnerable farm buildings with expensive machinery or stock contents, remote houses or buildings, boat yards, Stable tack Rooms and even Containers which are used to hold valuable equipment.

Give Your Possessions A Home With Property Marking

Filed under: Property Marking — admin @ 1:03 pm

It surprises me when I hear of people purchasing the latest home security products such as home alarms, garage & shed protection devices and even security lighting for the perimeter of their property. Then at the first sign of any good weather out they pop, leaving windows open and access to their belongings. The same can be said about those who buy expensive bikes, during the summer months. Off they cycle to the shops, local park. As soon as their destination is reached they simply jump off and leave their bike unattended.

Every year millions of pounds worth of goods simply ‘walk off ‘ due to the forgetfulness of their owners, however, on a positive note the Police have recovered hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of goods on organised raids, seizure of goods and simply finding discarded items. Property Marking is a fantastic way to ensure that your stolen goods don’t end up at a police auction for unclaimed possessions.

Using property marking will ensure that all your recovered items will prove proper ownership.

Feel Safer With A Personal Alarm

Filed under: Personal Alarms — admin @ 9:24 am

What is about a small device measuring no more than a couple of inches square that can make people feel much safer whilst walking alone to the shops, home from a friends house or even on a night out. In today’s world, personal safety has to be one of the biggest concerns that we face and it’s not only women and the elderly but this also applies to teenagers and men. Personal alarms have the ability to give many people the peace of mind they require to go about their daily business.

Personal alarms
work by emitting a loud, high-pitched noise which will disturb you attacker thus giving you the time required to make your escape or even better let passers by know that you need assistance.

As the purpose of a Personal Alarm is to frighten and alert then the louder the better. We at Crime Prevention Products have some of the loudest most compact personal alarms on the market sounding out a powerful 120, 130 and even 140 decibels.

Crime Figures On The Way Down

Filed under: Crime News — admin @ 9:29 am

The latest crime figures have been released and according to the statistics, crime in England and Wales is down by 9% (source). Good news to hear that thefts, burglaries and fraud are all on a downward trend. But, just how honest are the figures? Like many statistics, they can be manipulated. For example, not all crime reported is included in the findings (serious crimes such as murder are excluded) then there are the crimes that also go unreported.

However, in saying all that, any drop in crime has to be a good thing. But, let’s not start leaving our front doors and windows open just yet, as we pop down to the local shops. We have to remember that there are some people out there that are only too happy to take advantage and WILL take what is not theirs.

Shed and Garage Protection

Filed under: Garden Security — admin @ 2:15 pm

When people talk about home security they normally refer to home alarm systems including door and window locks. In fact many residents forget that home security should include driveways, garden lighting and all outbuildings including all sheds and garages.

With the summer season now in full swing and for once the weather is being more favourable than normal, therefore many residents have now organised BBQ’ s and garden parties. However, with this being Britain, we all know that the weather can change within the blink of an eye. Which can often mean that people will be running around tidying up and placing objects in garages and sheds, as the weather takes a turn for the worse, then running back into the house to continue partying.

Thieves are only too happy to exploit an open shed or garage door, helping themselves to family bikes, personal possessions or even worse the family car.

Protecting your possessions can be so easy. Think about security lighting which will illuminate your garden thus alerting people that someone is in your property. Alarming your garage and shed is by far the best option as this can alert everyone that someone is gaining entry to your property. Here are some of the best products on the market to help protect your outdoor personal possessions:

What Price Do You Put On Your Home Security

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 9:49 am

When we mention the word security we automatically conjure up images of bulking six foot plus men dressed in black suits keeping the crowd away from celebrities or shadowing big name political leaders. In reality, security can be defined as a measure that is undertaken to counteract the actions of people attempting to cause destruction or theft.

We like to think that one of the safest places we know is within our own four walls. No matter what is going on outside, we can block it out by closing the windows, locking the doors and like a medieval walled city gates we’ll feel safe inside.

However, from the beginning of time there have been people which have taken possessions that didn’t belong to them, as far back as the pre-dynastic Egyptian tomb raiders. In modern times, things may have changed some but are they really any better when we think of protecting our possessions – we still have people who are only too happy to take full advantage of an open window or an unlocked door – even more so now as the ordinary modern family acquire more material possessions than ever before.

Warm Weather Means Plenty of Pickings For Thieves

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 1:41 pm

British offices and workplaces get baked under the Summer Sun. Some workers are lucky where they can simply close the window, pull the blinds and turn on the air-conditioning. However, for most this is not an option and the only solution for some cool air to pass through the office is by means of an open window. The same can be said when we return home at night, as most people have no air conditioning system in their homes – they rely on having a few windows open around the house as a means to cool the inside tempreture down.

Living in Britain we’re not used to sleeping in hot, clammy conditions, therefore many households go to sleep at night with open windows.

The cool air flowing through your home at night may be good to help you sleep but an opportunistic thief will take full advantage of any open window no matter how far it is open.

If you must have your window open in these Summer nights then just take a moment to think who your’e leaving your home open to! If you have no choice to leave your windows open then at least think about your home security.

Don’t give the opportunist thief a chance to ruin your summer.

Switch On To Counterfeit Lamps

Filed under: Counterfeit Detection — admin @ 12:44 pm

Love them or loathe them – ‘The Coalition Government’ have now taken charge of the country and have recently delivered their ‘rescue budget’ to the nation. Admist all the cuts that are going to be taken place in the public and private sector there is now a growing concern that professional counterfeit gangs will be trying to take advantage as everyday workers try to come to terms with the fear of redundancy.

Economic crime and counterfeit fraud don’t just happen to large multi billion pound conglomerates – they often start at ground level targeting shop workers, ice cream sellers and seasonal workers. For these are the easy, possible targets for these gangs to operate within. As always, vigilance has to the key when dealing with money and the public – always be on alert for anything that looks suspicious and always check the money that you are receiving.
