Not All Tourist’s Cash is Legal Tender

Filed under: Counterfeit Detection — admin @ 3:01 pm

With the warm weather now starting to heat up our shores and the holiday season just around the corner many seasonal businesses will be gearing up for the influx of tourists. Everyone from market stall holders to ice-cream vendors will be hoping that the sun stays out and they can hopefully make some serious cash.

In recent times, many seasonal businesses, have suffered due to the credit crunch and lack of tourists. The terrible weather that plagued our country last year also didn’t help. So this year they’ll all be hoping for better profitable times.

Camp Safety

Filed under: Travel Security — admin @ 2:09 pm

During the Summer months some families may find themselves escaping the rat-race (well, for a couple of days) and pack up their belongings and head off into the country in their cars. Armed with tent, sleeping bags and camping stove, most families will endeavour to find a nice secluded part of the countryside to teach their children all about Mother Nature.

This can be a great time for all involved, father and son gathering wood for the campfire, mother and daughter looking at all the different plants and animals that can be found in the British countryside.

These memorable times can last with your kids for years and years. However, there is a serious side to outdoor camping and backpacking safety. There are many dangers to be found while your are off the beaten track and not just from the wildlife.

An Alarm is Not Just an Alarm

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 10:25 am

As your family’s safety is paramount choosing the right alarm system is something that has to be thought of very carefully. People may think that ‘an alarm is just an alarm‘, however, this is rarely the case. Did you know that once you have been burgled the chances of it happening again increases by two that’s why it is imperative you get it right first time.

For many, when they think of home security, anxious thoughts start seeping into the mind, we worry just how safe we are at night or are our possessions secured while we are out-and-about and the house is empty.

Think Streetwise Be Streetsmart

Filed under: Personal Alarms,Personal Safety — admin @ 1:07 pm

As a parent I am constantly looking out for my kids, teaching them what’s right from wrong, and hopefully given them a chance to grow into respectable individuals. As they grow, I hope they’ll have an understanding of what ‘streetwise’ and ‘streetsmart’ is all about (and that just doesn’t mean they know what to do when it comes to crossing the road or finding their way to the shops).

Being streetwise in today’s society is all about safety and knowing what to do in certain situations and most of all trusting your instincts.

Cooking Up The World Cup This Summertime

Filed under: Fire Safety — admin @ 10:59 am

It’s here at last! Well, according to the weather man and my calendar, British Summertime has begun and we will ALL be waiting to see what will the next few months bring? If we listen to the experts we should be in for a ‘scorcher‘, however, let’s be honest, they said that last year and look what happened rain, rain and then it rained some more.

But, this year it’s going to be different – so the say!

Although, no matter what the weather is like, something special is about to happen this summer, (well for everyone that enjoys the beautiful game, that is). The football world cup will be kicking off in less than three months time and in preparation for the start and hopefully the warm weather some people may be heading to the local DIY shops looking to purchase a top of the range BBQ and perhaps a paddling pool for the kids, if there is any change left over.

Perimeter Protection

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 10:04 am

They are often overlooked as an essential part of your home security systems, but perimeter alarms are your first line in protection against burglars and attackers. When choosing your new home alarm system look at the area which it has to protect. This includes all areas such as out-buildings, driveways and of-course your garden perimeter wall or fence – these are all first point entry points for your potential thief.

Think Shed Security

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 11:29 am

If you take a stroll down many of the streets in Britain and just have a quick glance at some back yards (without looking too suspicious, mind), you’ll notice one major thing, gone are the small potting sheds, which once stood proud at the rear of each garden crammed full of seedlings, lawnmowers and tools. Now people are opting to have proper Summer Houses that will accommodate up to 10 people, satellite TV, music systems and a bar.

With the price rising of going out and the consistent threat of violence in every pub and club, it’s no wonder that some residents have opted to host garden parties for a few of their friends rather than risk going into town or the city centre. Garden sheds have come a long way in the last few years and unfortunately people forget this when it comes to protecting them.
