Protecting Yourself From Identity Theft

Filed under: Crime Awareness — admin @ 10:24 am

identity-theftWhen we don’t protect our property and possessions we are leaving it open for the opportunistic thief or sneak thief to obtain personal information about us. ‘Identity Theft‘ is one area of crime that is on the increase, not only in this country but also in many other countries around the World.

Criminals who want to commit identity theft will go to many lengths, including going through your rubbish in order to get personal information about you, in order to set up false bank accounts and get credit cards in your name.

Camping Wind Up Torches

Filed under: Travel Security — admin @ 3:38 pm

camping-and-caravansCamping and caravanning are making a bit hit for us Brits rather than the usual foreign holiday this year. Seemingly, this stay-at-home trend is going to be around for a good while longer. As the camping bug bites not everyone wants to be shoehorned into a campsite but rather enjoy the freedom that camping truly allows. However, as camping grows in popularity so undoubtedly will crime in this relaxing pastime.

There are many good alarms and anti theft devices on the market to help combat the ‘sneak-thief’, and keep us safe, but lets face it nothing makes us feel more safe than a well lit area.

Power Securing Your Motorbikes and Cycles

Filed under: Security Locks — admin @ 12:54 pm

As the old saying goes “If a thief wants it they will get it”, however, the more security measures that are in place means the higher risk a thief takes off being caught in-the-act. Does this mean we simply give-up and make it easy for them? Not a chance!

What about protecting our possessions like motorbikes and cycles – which are targetted often because they are seen as an easy choice for thieves?

The use of a chain will deter some thieves but not all of them, if you really want to deter the most persistent thieves then try the Rhino Quadlink case Hardened security Chain, this 1.5 metre long hardened steel chain which is protected in it’s own sleeve and has a high resistance to bolt cutters and hacksaws.

Working Alone and Staying Safe

Filed under: Personal Safety — admin @ 2:21 pm

Many people would have you believe that it’s illegal to work on your own, however the law clearly states, “there are no absolute restrictions on working alone”. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 states that proper care must be carried out to ensure the safety of employees, and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulation 1999 stresses that proper risk assessments must be carried out to protect the employees and people entering the work premises.

The Perfect Portable Security Lock

Filed under: Security Locks — admin @ 11:00 am

bike-theftHow many times do we lock our possessions up thinking that they will be safe, whether it is a garden shed, tool boxes, store rooms or even your favourite bike down the local shops, thieves have the knack of getting passed our attempts of prevention and we know nothing about it till it’s too late?

This is very disturbing knowing that someone has been in your personal space and away with your hard earned possessions, this is not including the hassle of contacting the Police then there’s the insurance, again adding money to your premiums, more expense that you don’t need in this economic climate.

Protect Your Home From Bogus Callers

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 2:01 pm

bogus-callersFrom time to time we all get unwanted visitors at our property, whether it’s at our gates or at the front door.

It is worth remembering that not all visitors that come to your property are who they say they are, bogus callers are masters at what they do and there are dozens of ‘scams’ going on at any one time all over the country.

Bogus door-caller scams can be people saying they had ran out of petrol to men or women saying they are from the gas or electricity board. Bogus callers will attempt to con anyone out of their money; no one is safe from these doorstep callers!

However, one of the best ways to prevent unwanted visitors from gaining access to your property is to install The Wireless Audio Door Phone System, this is the ideal “who’s there” system.

Knife Handheld Scanner

Filed under: Personal Safety — admin @ 10:10 am

It is shocking to think these type of headlines are becoming the norm… “Man Stabbed” or “Child Critical After Knife Attack” or “Woman Attacked with Knife in Local Park” they are indeed a sad part of everyday life in today’s modern Britain. Knife crime has become one of the biggest killers in Britain in recent years, although some organisations try to mask the actual figures, one fact still remains, people are getting hurt by mindless thugs using knives to attack people.

Wall Spikes from Prikka Strip

Filed under: Home Security — admin @ 2:04 pm

We all try our best to protect our property, family and possessions with cameras, home alarms and driveway alarms, these are all great at alerting us that someone or something is approaching, or already in our property. What if you could stop or deter someone or something from actually entering your property unwanted, for example over a wall or fence?
